Doctor Elizabeth Kilpatrick Fox on gum disease treatment
Elizabeth K-Fox: If someone’s showing gum disease, we start off pretty conservatively. We will go ahead, inform them, show them, and then normally we’re going to numb the patient and remove all of that bacteria and infection and see how that looks. If that doesn’t work, then we’re going to have to go with a little bit more advanced treatment, which may involve surgery, but we do that in the office routinely. And, again, they all get good results, they get themselves back to healthy and move forward with maintaining so that they can keep that and their teeth for the rest of their lives.
