Doctor Elizabeth Kilpatrick Fox on restorative dentistry
Elizabeth K.: If people are missing teeth or have broken-down teeth, we can actually build them back up with crowns. We can fill spaces in with bridges. If that doesn’t work for them with their time, and life, and budget, then we can certainly talk about partial dentures or dentures. All those things, we do at the office. Which again, is great. There are so many offices that refer lots of work out. But after 26 years in the business, we’ve figured out what we can do and make it work for the patients really well. If you don’t keep on your teeth and get them as close to optimum health as you can, however you fix them, we’re looking for the ground up. As healthy as your teeth can be will translate into your life, as you’re healthier yourself. You can chew better. You don’t have the bacteria going through your body. And if you’re missing them, and they’re broken down, there’s just more bacteria. And the teeth shift. And it becomes just a domino effect. People stay away from the dentist because they’re afraid, or any number of reasons. But the more you see us actually, the better it is. You end up having a lot less problems over time.
